The petitioner is before this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to run a meat shop in the premises bearing Door No.17/243 of Thickananamcode Panchayat, Kanniyakumari District.
2.Heard Mr. A. Balakrishnan, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mrs. K.R. Shivashankari, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent; and Mr. S. Sivasubramaniam, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 2 and 3.
3.The petitioner was earlier running a slaughter house in the said premises. However, the said slaughter house was closed pursuant to the directions issued by this Court in W.P.(MD) No.25079 of 2025, dated 2/5
24.11.2025. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted representations seeking permission to run a meat shop in the subject property. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite the lapse of considerable time, no orders have been passed on the said representations. 4.Mr. S. Sivasubramaniam, learned Government Advocate appearing for respondents 2 and 3, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representations dated 14.10.2025, 27.10.2025, 19.01.2026 and 01.04.2026 would be considered and disposed of by the second respondent on its own merits within such time as may be stipulated by this Court. The said submission is placed on record. 5.In view of the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's claim, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 14.10.2025, 27.10.2025, 19.01.2026 and 01.04.2026, on its own merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders.

6.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of four
(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.There shall be no order as to costs.
