any other writ or direction calling for the entire records connected with the detention order of the respondent no.2 in No.02/SCDFGISSSV/2023 dated 01.02.2023 and quash the same and direct the respondents to produce he body or person of the detenu by name Alagammal, wife of Boopathi, aged about 46 years, now detained as "Drug Offender" at Special Prison for Women, Madurai before this Hon`ble Court and set her at liberty forthwith.
Order : This petition coming up for orders on this day, upon perusing the petition filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of M/S. ALAGUMANI.R, Advocate for the petitioner and of Mr.A.THIRUVADI KUMAR, Additional Public Prosecutor on behalf of the Respondents, the Court made the following order:- (Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) Complaining of certain medical ailments with regard to the petitioner's eye vision and pain in her hand, the petitioner, who is detained in the third respondent prison, seeks for a direction to the first respondent to admit her in Government Rajaji Medical College Hospital, Madurai for medical treatment.
2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on written instructions, submitted that the only major medical ailment, which the petitioner had, was to her vision, for which a cataract surgery was performed at the Government Rajaji Hospital between 08.07.2023 and 14.07.2023 and she has also been discharged. The copy of the medical certificate has also been produced before us.
3. Thus, the medical ailment, which the petitioner is complained of has been taken care. In case, the petitioner is undergoing any other medical ailment with regard to her hand, it is open to her to approach the jail authorities seeking for such treatment in the jail hospital.
