Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant licence to the petitioner for running the Cable TV operations in the name and style of Thala Cable TV situated at Melachinthalaicheri, on the basis of the petitioners representation dated 06.02.2016 within the time stipulated by this Honourable Court.

O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to grant licence to the petitioner for running the Cable TV operations in the name and style of Thala Cable TV situated at Melachinthalaicheri, on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 06.02.2016, within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, he got ten years of experience in running cable TV operation business and he has applied to the Local Head Post Master, Bodinaickanoor, Theni District, to grant necessary licence for running the cable TV operation business at Melachinthalaicheri under the name and style of Thala Cable TV. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has given a representation to the respondents on 06.02.2016 and so far, the said representation has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, he has filed the present writ petition.

3. Mr.Abdul Saleem, the learned counsel appearing for the respondents/Arasu Cable TV Corporation submitted that they are ready and willing to consider the petitioner's representation within a time limit prescribed by this Court.

4. In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2016, after giving an opportunity to the petitioner as well as any rival claimant, if any, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
