This petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to give necessary police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her husband namely Manikandan based on the petitioner's representation dated 17.08.2019. 2.It is the grievance of the petitioner that the petitioner is a major and got married with one Manikandan. Now, they have lodged a complaint before the respondent police with an allegation that the parents of the petitioner harassed them and also threatened them with dire consequences under the guise of honour killing. Though the petitioner made the representation on 17.08.2019, till then, the same is pending before the respondents police. Therefore, the petitioner sought for police protection.

3.Heard the learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 4.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction: The respondents 1 to 4 are hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 17.08.2019 and provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her husband. 5.

With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
