ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed for the following relief:- "Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamusdirecting the respondent to register the vehicle in the name and style of Huyndai i20 MAGNA plus VTVT Model - M1BS4 and to issue permanent registration number and pass such further or other orders as this Honble court may deem fit and proper in the circumstances of this case and thus render justice."
2. Mr.K.Navaneetharaja, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and M/s.P.Sudarkodi Nachiar, learned Government Standing Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
3. The matter relates to the registration of a vehicle belonging to the petitioner. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's husband was serving in the Indian Army. During his
service, he purchased a vehicle, namely, a Hyundai i20 Magna Plus VTVT Model - M1BS4, in Madhya Pradesh and obtained a temporary registration for the same. Thereafter, when he brought the vehicle to Tamil Nadu, he fell ill and subsequently passed away.
4. It is the grievance of the petitioner that, on account of certain issues raised regarding the lapse of time, the said vehicle has not been registered. Aggrieved, by the same, the petitioner is before this Court.
5. Before considering the various grounds on merits, it is pertinent to note that the respondents have not taken any decision in writing setting out the detailed reasons with reference to the representation submitted by the petitioner on 17.03.2026.
5. Considering the limited relief sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of on the following terms:- i. The 3rd respondent take up the representation dated 17.03.2026 submitted by the petitioner for consideration.
ii. Due notice shall be issued to the petitioner, and thereafter, a speaking order shall be passed on its own merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and, in any event, not later than eight weeks from the date of receipt of a web copy of this order.
iii. No costs.
