O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.] The petitioner filed this Writ Petition to direct the respondent to take immediate action for eviction of encroachment on a public property, by considering the representation dated 14.12.2015.

2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that a private person, by encroaching upon the channel of the Public Works Department, formed a layout. The authorities have failed to take action. The lay out is known as "Annai Velu Nagar" at Veerapandiya Village, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District. Since no action was taken by the authorities, the petitioner submitted a representation on 14.12.2015. Since there was no follow up action taken, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. We direct the District Collector, Madurai, to take immediate action, by considering the representation dated 14.12.2015. In case it is made out that there was an act of encroachment, necessary action shall be taken for removal of encroachment, of course, after issuing notice to the encroachers. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 14.12.2015 along with a copy of this order so as to enable the District Collector to take emergent action in the matter.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
