O R D E R

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue a receipt in respect of the amount allegedly deducted from his terminal benefits, pursuant to his representation dated 06.04.2026.

2.The petitioner was employed as a Secretary in the second respondent Society. It is stated that he was terminated from service and that an appeal challenging the order of termination is presently pending consideration. According to the petitioner, during the pendency of the appeal, certain amounts alleged to have been misappropriated by him were recovered by deduction from the terminal benefits payable to him. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite such deduction, the second respondent has not issued any receipt or acknowledgment evidencing the recovery. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 06.04.2026, which is stated to be pending consideration. 3.Mrs. K.R. Shivashankari, learned Government Advocate 2/6

appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that if any amount has in fact been deducted from the terminal benefits payable to the petitioner, the second respondent is willing to issue an appropriate receipt or acknowledgment evidencing such deduction. The said submission is placed on record.

4.In view of the above submission, no further adjudication is required in the present writ petition.

5.Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to verify whether any amount has been deducted from the terminal benefits payable to the petitioner and, if such deduction has been effected, issue an appropriate receipt or acknowledgment indicating the amount deducted and the particulars thereof.

6.The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of two

(2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6

7.There shall be no order as to costs.
