Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, direct the 2nd respondent to make UDR correction and cancel the false patta No.348 and its subsequent pattas, and consequently issue correct patta to the heirs of Sankaralingathevar on the basis of representation dated 19.06.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to consider his representation dated 19.06.2025 seeking UDR correction in respect of the property situate in S.No.472/2 with an extent of 74 cents and 472/1 with an extent of 27.5 cents in Lakshmipuram Village, Madurai South District.

2.Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 1 to 5. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse is passed against the private respondents i.e., respondents 6 to 10, notice to them is dispensed with.

3.According to the petitioner, the subject property belonged to his grandfather, Sankaralingam. During UDR correction, patta was erroneously issued in favour of the sixth respondent. Therefore, the petitioner submitted an instant representation before the second respondent seeking cancellation of patta issued in favour of the sixth respondent and restoration of patta in the name of heirs of Sankaralingam. The said representation has not been considered. Hence the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 5 would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law. 3/6

5.In view of the same, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.06.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner and the private respondents i.e., respondents 6 to 10. 6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
