The petitioners/accused in Crime No.2 of 2025 have moved this Criminal Original Petition to quash the above proceedings, which is pending as against them.

2.Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondent submits that the investigation in Crime No.2 of 2025 has already been completed and the final report has also been been filed before the Special Court for POCSO Act cases, Thanjavur, on 09.05.2025, through e-filing, however, the same is yet to be taken on file.

3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioners to challenge the final report, if so advised, in the manner known to law. Mere filing of final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility of the respondent police to ensure 2/4

that the final report is taken on file by the concerned Court within a period of two weeks. It is also the responsibility of the concerned Courts to take the final reports on file, if it is filed in order, within a period of two weeks.
