Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 6 to provide proper drainage and pathway facilities to the petitioner's house located in Door No.1/191, ESI Street, Rajakambeeram, Manamadurai, Sivagangai District and consequently, provide police protection to the petitioner.

ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court alleging that the fifth respondent has not provided any civic amenities to the area, where he is living and therefore, the sewage water is being let in, in front of his house.

2. Though this writ petition is pending from the year 2017, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the Official respondents, based on the written instructions, which have been received from the Village Administrative Officer, Rajakambeeram, Sivagangai District, submits that as of now, there is no stagnation of sewage water in front of the petitioner's house.

4. This Court is not satisfied with the report submitted on behalf of the respondents. It is the duty of the Panchayat to maintain civic 3/6

amenities in the people living areas.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed with a direction to the official respondents to maintain the drainage in a proper manner without any inconvenience to the public. No costs. 26.03.2024 ogy NCC : Yes / No.
