Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner was employed as Sanitary Inspector in Paramakudi Municipality. He reached the age of superannuation on 31.05.2022. However, he has not been allowed to retire from service. This was on account of issuance of charge memo dated 19.05.2022. The petitioner wants to be allowed to retire without prejudice to the pendency of the disciplinary proceedings. He has given a representation in this regard on 02.06.2022. He has also given one more representation on 25.07.2022.

3. The first respondent is directed to pass order on the said representation on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
