It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the respondent Police have registered a case in Crime No.553 of 2017 against the petitioner and nine more accused persons for the offences under Sections 406, 409, 420 and 120B of I.P.C and after completion of investigation, case was taken on file as C.C.No.123 of 2020 by learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Sivagangai, Sivagangai District and in spite of the fact that the case was taken in the year 2020, there is no progress in the trial.

3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor on the other hand submits that except for Accused No.10, Manager of Nationalized Bank, summons were served in respect of other accused persons and that respondent Police will take all the efforts to serve summons on Accused No.10.

4. Considering the nature of offences and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Sivagangai, Sivagangai 2/4

District, is directed to instruct the concerned local Police to expedite the service of summons against Accused No.10, who is stated to be working in one of the branches in Nationalized Bank as a Manager and after service of summons on Accused No.10, to take up the trial of case and dispose of the same as quickly as possible not later than six months thereafter.

5. With this direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
