This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both the parties present. The counsel for the appellant/s MR.C.JAWAHAR RAVINDRAN and the counsel for the respondents MR.S.RAMAN are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties and with the assistance of the Bench, both sides consented for settlement. AWARD The tribunal has awarded a sum of Rs.7,06,927/-, as compensation with 7.5% interest from the date of filing of the petition. The appellant Insurance Company is ready and agreed to pay the amount of Rs. 4,25,000/-(Rupees Four Lakhs and Twenty Five Thousand only) with accrued interest and cost and the appellant has already deposited 50% of the award amount before the Tribunal. The appellant, Insurance Company is directed to deposit the balance amount, within a period of four months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. After depositing, the first respondent/petitioner is permitted to withdraw the same, without filing any formal petition.
