ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) The prayer sought for herein is for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to the installation of traffic light signals and traffic police in order to avoid traffic congestion and accident at Moondrumavadi Junction, K.Pudur, Madurai, based on his representation, dated 08.12.2023. 2.In order to establish an automatic traffic signal by the respondent Department at Moondrumavadi Junction, K.Pudur, Madurai, the petitioner as a Public Interest Litigant has approached this Court, after giving a representation to that effect to the respondents on 08.12.2023. 2/6
3.Reiterating the aforestated, Mr.C.Susikumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks indulgence of this Court. 4.Heard Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent and Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 2 and 3. 5.Though Mr.T.Senthil Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 2 and 3 has stated that already there has been a traffic signal installed just 150 meters away from the present Moondrumavadi Junction if another traffic signal is established in the present junction, that would cause some hindrance in the traffic, therefore, technically whether it is feasible or not itself is a question, but anyhow, the representation given by the petitioner, dated 08.12.2023 would be considered and decided on merits and in accordance with law. 6.Therefore, this Court, having considered the said submissions made by both sides and having regard to the aforestated facts and circumstances, is inclined to dispose of this Writ Petition with the following order:
3/6
'That there shall be a direction to the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 08.12.2023 and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law and communicate the decision to the petitioner, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.' 7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs. [R.S.K.,J.] [G.A.M.,J.] 29.07.2024 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No ps 4/6
