The prayer in the Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's request for providing death benefits of his deceased daughter M.Nandhini, worked as Field Assistant under the second respondent and also to provide compassionate appointment to his younger daughter, considering his representation dated 10.02.2016.

2. Heard the submissions made on either side.

3. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner's daughter by name M.Nandhini was working as Field Assistant in the second respondent Division. She got married to one Manikandan on 12.06.2013, but, within 9 days of her marriage, she committed suicide due to dowry harassment. Since she died while in service and she was the caretaker of the family, the petitioner made a representation dated 10.02.2016 to the second respondent seeking death benefits and also appointment on compassionate ground to his younger daughter. However, the same is kept pending without any order being passed. Therefore, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking the aforesaid reliefs.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the second respondent submits that the representation of the petitioner dated 10.02.2016 would be considered on merits within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case also also having regard to the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the second respondent, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.02.2016, if not considered earlier and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
