O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent Corporation to refund the security deposit amount of Rs.1,47,840/- paid by the petitioner, along with interest, by considering her representation dated 09.04.2026.

2. Heard Mr.A.Mohamedhaneef, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Vinayak , learned Standing, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2.

3. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had paid the security deposit pursuant to the successful bid in respect of Shop No. 1/6 in Ward No.33, Zone-II, Madurai Corporation. The grievance of the 2/6

petitioner is that the officials of the respondent Corporation have obstructed access to the shop by constructing a bus shelter in front of the said shop. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 26.02.2026 requesting removal of the obstruction. However, the said representation has not been considered so far. Consequently, the petitioner submitted another representation dated 09.04.2026 seeking refund of the security deposit already paid. Since the said representation has also not been considered till date, the petitioner has constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition.

5. The learned counsel further submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the case, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 09.04.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. 3/6

Such exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. 29.06.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes PKN 4/6
