PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ of certiorarified mandamus to call for the records in pursuance to the impugned peace committee meeting proceeding dated 02.10.2020 on the file of the 2nd respondent and quash the same as it is illegal and direct the respondents to distribute cows and calfs received as offers in the village temple to the members belonged to women self help group and men self group in our Anjalam village, Musiri Taluk, For Petitioner : Mr.M.Karthikeya Venkatachalapathy For Respondent : Mr.P.Subbaraj, Nos.1,2 and 4 Special Govt Pleader For Respondent : Mr.V.Chandrasekar No.3

ORDER

The petitioner claims to be a representative of the villagers of Anjalam Village, Musiri Taluk, Tiruchirappali District. This writ petition is filed as against the orders of the Tahsildar dated 02.10.2020. The impugned order is a resolution passed in a peace committee conducted by the Tahsildar. 2/5

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the resolution has been passed without having the representation of their village.

3.The resolution passed in a peace committee meeting is not an order authorised by any provision of law and it is not having any statutory value. Therefore, the writ petition is allowed and the impugned resolution is set aside.

4.If the petitioner is having any grievance with regard to the administration of the temple, he shall work out his remedy before the appropriate forum. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
