This Writ Petition has been filed seeking direction to the 1st respondent to direct the 2nd respondent to issue Transfer Certificate to the petitioner's daughter namely R.Dharani, by mentioning the petitioner's name in the father's name column based on the petitioner's application dated 10.07.2024.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner has adopted a child Dharani from his wife's sister viz., Velankanni and her husband Balaji and the said adoption was duly registered before the Sub-Registrar Office in Document No.39 of 2017. Based on the said adoption, the father name of the minor child Dharani is changed in the Aadhar Card, Nativity Certificate, Ration Card, Community Certificate and publication is also effected in this regard in Government Gazetee in Sl.No.19449. When the petitioner requested the 2nd respondent to issue Transfer Certificate to the petitioner's daughter, by mentioning the petitioner's name in the 2/4
father's name column, they orally refused the said request. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent submitted that they have no objection for issuing the Transfer Certificate including the name of the adopted father viz., the petitioner's name.

Considering the fact that the deed of adoption was registered and the Gazette publication was also effected, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to issue Transfer Certificate to the petitioner's daughter viz., R.Dharani, by inserting the name of the petitioner in the father's name column, within a period of one month from today.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
