J U D G M E N T

[Judgment of the Court was made by RMT.TEEKAA RAMAN, J.] The respondent filed the writ petition challenging the order dated 14.10.2020, passed by the appellant - TANGEDCO, rejecting the application submitted by him for electricity service connection for the petition mentioned property.

2. The appellant - TANGEDCO filed a counter affidavit in the writ petition categorically contending that the subject land had already been acquired by the Highways Department and now, it belongs to the Highways Department.

3. However, the learned Single Judge, by order dated 18.11.2020, disposed of the writ petition by quashing the order impugned in the writ petition and directing the appellant - TANGEDCO to grant electricity service connection to the petition mentioned property. Challenging the same, TANGEDCO has preferred this writ appeal.

4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the appellant - TANGEDCO, on instructions, would submit the subject land had already been

acquired by the Highways Department, encroachments made by the respondent herein had been removed and now, a road has been laid therein. Therefore, the relief sought for by the respondent herein in the writ petition has now become infructuous.

5. There is no representation on the side of the respondent.

6. Recording the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the appellant - TANGEDCO, this writ appeal is disposed of as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
