Respondents PRAYER : Writ petition is filed, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission to perform the dance program of Adal Padal - at night at Arulmigu Shri Kaliamman Kovil Temple situated at Sedapatti Village, peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, scheduled to be held on 22.03.2016 and to provide adequate police protection.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and protection for Adal Padal programme, scheduled to be held on 22.03.2016 at night hours, in Shri Kaliamman Kovil Temple, Sedapatti Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 19.02.2016.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the villagers jointly decided to perform the cultural event in Shri Kaliamman Kovil Temple, Sedapatti Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District, scheduled to be held on 22.03.2016 at night hours. He would further submit that in this connection, a representation has already been given to the respondents on 19.02.2016, with a request to grant permission to conduct the programme on the above said date. However, the respondents have not yet considered the said representation and hence the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

3. Heard the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

4. In view of the limited scope of prayer sought for in this petition, the second respondent Police is directed to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, with regard to the representation, dated 19.02.2016, given by the petitioner, taking into account the law and problem and other aspects, prevailing in the area, as expeditiously as possible. In the event of the authorities deciding to give permission, the same should include the conditions imposed by this Court in W.P.(MD) No.19477 of 2014, dated 02.12.2014.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
