ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the Respondents to count the period of service rendered by the petitioner from 27.01.1997 to 11.06.2002 as qualifying service for the purpose of service benefits and accordingly re-fix the seniority from the date of initial appointment till date and consequentially to direct the respondent to disburse all monetary and service benefits.
2. Heard M/s.R.Geethanjali, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Selva Ganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
4. The petitioner was initially appointed temporarily as a Salesman on 21.01.1997 and he was made permanent in the year 1998 3/7
and his service was regularised w.e.f. 16.05.2001. In order to count the period of service rendered by the petitioner from 27.01.1997 to 11.06.2002 as qualifying service for the purpose of service benefits and refix the seniority from the date of initial appointment to till date and disburse all the monetary benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation dated 16.07.2024. Since the said representation has been considered by the respondents so far, the present writ petition has been filed.
5. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation of the petitioner would be considered by the respondents within a time frame fixed by this Court.

In the light of the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of and the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated on 16.07.2024 on its own merits and pass orders in terms of the existing Government Order and in the light of the earlier judicial pronouncements made in this regard, within a period of four 4/7
weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner and it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits. No costs.
