ORDER

The petitioner has come up with the above writ petition seeking for the issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to provide educational loan to the petitioner to the tune of Rs.2,04,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Four Thousand only) for the academic year 2015-2018 to continue his course in B.Sc Hotel Management and Catering Science in Annai Fathima College of Arts and Science, Allampatti, Thirumangalam, Madurai District. 2.Heard Mr.M.Maran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Dilipkumar, learned counsel for the respondents Bank.

year in B.Sc Hotel Management and Catering Science in Annai Fathima College of Arts and Science, Allampatti, Thirumangalam, Madurai District. The petitioner submitted an application for granting loan before the respondents. Since no order has been passed, the present writ petition has been filed. 4.Learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner is entitled to get Rs.4,750/- as per the fees fixed by the Justice N.V.Balasubramaniam Committee. However, the Bank is ready and willing to consider the application of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. 5.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the respondent bank has granted a sum of Rs.

54,000/- as educational loan to a similarly placed student in the same college and therefore, the respondent bank may be directed to grant the same amount to the petitioner also. 6.In the above circumstances, since the second respondent bank has granted a sum of Rs.54,000/- as educational loan to another student like that of the petitioner, the respondent bank is directed to consider the case of the petitioner on par with the similarly placed student like that of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
