ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N. ANAND VENKATESH,J.) This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter and to set her at liberty.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The petitioner is the mother of the detenue. The grievance of the petitioner is that her daughter went to the College on 03.04.2026 and did not return back home and thereafter in spite of best efforts, the whereabouts of the detenue were not able to be ascertained. Hence, a complaint was given before the second respondent, based on the same, a woman missing FIR was registered in Crime No.92 of 2026 on 06.04.2026. Since no effective steps were taken to find the whereabouts of the detenue, the present petition has been filed before this Court.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the State of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner's daughter developed a love affair with one Aravind and went along with him. He further submitted that the father of Aravind gave a complaint before the Peravoorani Police Station, based on which, an enquiry was conducted, at which point of time, the said Aravind and the detenue were present and the parents of the said Aravind were also present. The said Aravind and the detenue refused to go along with the parents and made it clear that they want to live as husband and wife, since they have already married.

5. In the light of the above development, no further orders can be passed in this Habeas Corpus Petition and accordingly, the same stands disposed of.
