This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.IV, Madurai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.1741 of 2023, within a stipulated time limit. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an octogenerian and she is also a cancer patient. The petitioner's son cheated her to the tune of Rs.20,00,000/- for which the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the respondent police in the year 2022 and the final report was also filed in the year 2023. However, the witness is evading the trial and the trial is still pending 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) on instruction from the respondent police submits that the case was taken on file only on 02.09.2023. He further submits that summons have been issued to the witnesses and the case is posted for the appearance L.W.1 to L.W.5 on 19.09.2024.

5.The petitioner claims that she is a cancer patient and she is also aged about 80 years. The respondent police shall ensure that summons have been served on the witnesses and shall produce the witnesses before the trial Court on the next date of hearing i.e., 19.09.2024. The trial Court shall also take necessary steps to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible by considering the petitioner's health issue. 6.With the above said direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
