O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to respondent No.2 Police to complete the investigation in Crime No.5 of 2023 and file a final report within time frame fixed by this Court.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner, who is appearing for Accused No.1 has submitted that even though a case has been registered on 12.01.2023, respondent Police there is inordinate delay in completion of investigation, thereby, sought for a direction to complete the investigation within a time frame fixed by this Court.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) on the other hand submits that the petitioner was caught red-handed along with 250 gms of Ganja and that he was produced before the Court and remanded to judicial custody. It is submitted that the Police have completed the investigation and also filed a charge sheet on 04.07.2023 for the offence under Sections 8 (c) r/w 20(b) (ii) (A), 25, 29(i) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 and Section 77 of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate, Thirumangalam. 2/4

4. Since the very purpose of filing this petition has already been defeated on account of completion of investigation, no further orders are required to be passed and this petition become infructuous.
