: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2020 and set up a Special Committee to conduct enquiry regarding the scam found in collection of floor rent in Daily Market, Tiruchendur, Thoothukudi District for the past ten years.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.) The petitioner has come forward to file this writ petition, inter alia, alleging that large scale irregularities are going on 1/3
with respect to the collection of floor rent in the Daily Market.
2. On perusal of the typed set of papers filed by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the fourth respondent, it could be seen that action was already initiated as against one Karthik and the disputed amount is also said to have been deposited with the Treasury of the fourth respondent.
3. However, the grievance of the petitioner is that large scale irregularities has been going on for quite number of years. It appears that on receipt of the petitioner's representation, the Government has forwarded the same to the Deputy Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Chennai, in and by the letter dated 26.09.2020, for taking necessary action and the same is pending consideration.
4. In such view of the matter, we direct the Deputy Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Chennai, to pass appropriate orders in pursuant to the communication sent in letter No.21905/N.S.1/2020-1, dated 26.09.2020, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
