ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 1st respondent to delete the petitioner's name in Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) maintained by Tamilnadu Police Department, based on petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2026.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the petitioner's representation is bereft of material particulars. However, he fairly submitted that the representation does contain certain averments made by the petitioner, which would be looked into by the respondent police in accordance with law.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petitioner is directed to forthwith produce all the necessary documents and materials before 2/4

the respondent police to establish his entitlement for deletion of his name from the Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) maintained by the Tamil Nadu Police Department. Upon receipt and verification of the same, and if the petitioner is found entitled in accordance with law, the respondent police shall take appropriate steps to remove his name from the CCTNS records, where he is shown as an accused.
