O R D E R

The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to grant permission and protection for the Conference organized by "Thamilaga Puratchi Mutharaiyar Izhaignar Peravai, Thottiyam, Trichy District", scheduled to be held on 13.03.2016, at Nagainallur Village, Thottiyam Taluk, Trichy District.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents.

3. In view of the fact that the Election Commission of India has announced time table for elections to the State Assembly, the Police are denuded of their powers to grant permission for conducting such Conferences etc. Under such circumstances, this writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. No costs.
