This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to give police protection to the petitioner for the election campaign based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.09.2021.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based upon the representation made by the petitioner, police protection was extended to the petitioner from 25.09.2021 and according to him, still it continues. When the police protection is continuing, the grievance of the petitioner is not maintainable in this Court and the prayer sought for in this petition become infructuous. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the same shall be ordered to be continued till the election results are announced. Such a direction cannot be given by this Court. Depending upon the necessity, the first respondent may decide the same. 5.With the above liberty, this criminal original petition is dismissed as infructuous.
