O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the father of the detenu seeking to produce the alleged detenu namely Ramya, D/o.Marimuthu, aged about 21 years, before this Court and set her at liberty.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his daughter Ramya aged about 21 years gone to college on 12.07.2024, she did not return back to home and she was found missing. The petitioner has given a complaint to the second respondent police and a case in Cr.No.348 of 2024 was registered for 'Women Missing'. Since no further action has been taken by the respondent police, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.

3. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that

based on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Cr.No.348 of 2024 was registered for 'Woman Missing'. During the course of investigation, it came to light that the petitioner's daughter had gone along with one Kathiravan S/o.Vasanthi residing in the same locality and that her statement has also been recorded. The respondent police are taking steps to trace the missing person and as and when they are traced or secured it will be intimated to the petitioner.

4. In view of the above, we find that the detenu is not an illegal detention of anybody. Therefore, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to continue with the investigation and as and when the detenu is traced or secured, it shall be informed to the petitioner.
