The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take immediate and effective steps to securely close, inspect, clean, disinfect, and properly maintain the overhead water tank situated at Aathinathapuram Village, Aalwarthirunagari Firka, Eral Taluk, Thoothukudi District and consequently ensure safe potable water supply to the public based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.06.2025 within time stipulated by this Court.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 26.06.2025 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the counter parties, if any, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
