.. Respondents Prayer :- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to

consider petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2024 to cancel the legal heir certificate vide No.TN-7202405162093 dated 24.05.2024 issued by the fourth respondent and to reissue a legal heir certificate including the petitioner's name V.Mahalakshmi as legally wedded wife within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner got married to one Durairaj. The wife of Durairaj, namely, Indira Gandhi had passed away and only after her demise the petitioner is said to have married Durairaj. The petitioner's grievance is that the children born through the first wife have obtained legal heir certificate and the petitioner is not shown as one of the legal heirs. The petitioner has therefore given a representation for cancellation of the same. She wants a revised legal heir certificate to be issued by including her name.

3.The third respondent is directed to enquire into the petitioner's application dated 22.07.2024 and give a disposal on merits and in accordance with law after putting all the interested parties on notice. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter. This exercise shall be completed by the third respondent within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
