ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the second respondent to disburse the compensation amount for loss of the petitioner's maize crops due to fire in the land in survey Nos.1591/3B, 1493/4, 1494/1, 1494/3A2, 1591/2, 1591/3A, 1495/3 and 1495/1 in patta Nos.1823 and 1842 situated at Maraneri Village, Sivakasi Taluk,
2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

The land comprised in survey Nos.1591/3B, 1493/4, 1494/1, 1494/3A2, 1591/2, 1591/3A, 1495/3 and 1495/1 in patta Nos.1823 and 1842 situated at Maraneri Village, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District, originally belongs to the petitioner and cultivated the maize crops. While being so, there was a fire accident on 19.02.2020, thereby, he incurred loss to the tune of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs only). Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation claiming compensation before the second respondent. On receipt of the said representation, the second respondent sent a communication to the fifth respondent, to get report and the fifth respondent recommended compensation.

On perusal of the counter filed by the third respondent and on the submission made by the learned Government Advocate, it revealed that neither insured his crops nor brought any records to substantiate the same. Further, the petitioner also lodged a complaint as against the person, who caused fire accident, i.e., M/s.Coronation Fire Works, before the Inspector of Police, Maraneri Police Station, Virudhunagar Distrcit. While pending enquiry, there was compromise between the petitioner and 3/6
the Coronation Fire Works. As per the compromise, the petitioner was paid Rs.3,00,000/- as compensation for the damaged crops due to fire accident. Therefore, the complaint was withdrawn and dropped all further proceedings.
5. Therefore, the direction sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered and the writ petition is devoid of merit and the same is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
