Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay a compensation of Rs,10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) to the petitioner for the death of the petitioner's son namely Ganesh aged 17 years due to electrocution within a time frame fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The Court must place deep appreciation to Mr.S.Dheenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents/TANGEDCO. Using his good office, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents was 1/3

able to prevail upon the respondents to sanction a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- in accordance with their own Board proceedings. A copy of the demand draft in that regard, dated 19.01.2022 in the name of the A.Sumathi, the petitioner herein, had been filed in the Court. This fact is also acknowledged by the learned Counsel for the petitioner.

2.In view of that particular fact, let me not enter into any discussion on the averments made in the petition or in the counter affidavit and if the petitioner seeks higher and further compensation, it is open to her to initiate appropriate proceedings/suit in manner known to law, wherein, any statement made by them can be tested during the evidence.

3.Recording the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of. I once again reiterate that I am not examine the merits of the contention of either the petitioner or the respondents, but would appreciate that the respondents have come forward to make this payment to the petitioner herein. No costs.
