PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 4 to open a ration shop at Door No.16-12L of Karungal Town Panchayat situated at Kakkavilai in Survey No.538 of Karungal Village, Killiyur Taluk, Kanyakumari District, within a stipulated period that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

[Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.] This writ petition is filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to open a ration shop at Door No.16-12L of Karungal Town Panchayat situated at Kakkavilai in Survey No.538 of Karungal Village, Killiyur Taluk, Kanyakumari District, within a stipulated period that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

2. It is seen from the proceedings of the District Collector, Kanniyakumari, dated 31.08.2024 that the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation has been entrusted with the running of the fair price shop for the 368 card holders of Kakkavilai village for two days in a week ie., every Friday and Saturday.

3. In view of the said arrangement, the writ petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to seek reopening of the writ petition if the shop is not opened within a period of twelve weeks from today. No Costs. [R.S.M., J.] [L.V.G., J.] 02.09.2024 NCC :
