For Petitioner : Mr.A.C.Asaithambi For Respondents : Ms.D.Farjana Ghoushia, Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The petitioners claim that the land in Survey No.698 to an extent of 3.30.0 hectares has been assigned to them in the year 1982. Based on the assignment, entries have also been made in the 'A' register.

The petitioners have also enclosed their Patta Passbooks, which show that the Survey No.698 has been sub-divided and patta was also issued to them by the Deputy Tahsildar, Thiruverumbur, on 23.06.1997. Based on the said document, they have submitted a representation dated 06.12.2022 seeking necessary entries in the chitta 7/10

also. In this regard, an enquiry notice was also issued by the respondent, however, no orders have been passed. Therefore, the petitioners have approached this Court by way of filing these writ petitions.

Ms.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, on written instructions, which she received from the 4th respondent/the Tahsildar, Thiruverumbur, in Na.Ka.No.A4/0017/2023 dated 17.07.2023, submits that the land, in Survey No.698, to an extent of 3.30.0 hectares, is classified as a Government land and vide G.O.Ms.No.1349, Department of Education and Science and Technology, dated 26.06.1982, this land has been allotted to Bharathidasan University and now, it has been allotted to Anna University and the Anna University has also put up a compound wall to this land.

4. Considering the rival submissions made, this Court directs the 4th respondent/the Tahsildar, Thiruverambur, to take a decision on the petitioners' representation dated 06.12.2022 after providing an opportunity to the petitioners and pass necessary orders within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, these writ petitions are disposed of. No costs.
