Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to grant permission for conducting cultural and sports competition during pongal festival more particularly on 15.01.2016 and 16.01.2016 with mike based on the petitioner's representation, dated 06.01.2016.

O R D E R

The petitioner seeks for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent herein to grant permission for conducting cultural and sports competition during 'Pongal' festival, more particularly, on 15.01.2016 and 16.01.2016 with mike based on the petitioner's representation, dated 06.01.2016.

2.Mr.D.Muruganandham, Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.The counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 4.In view of the limited scope of the prayer, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 06.01.2016, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders on or before 13.01.2016. It is made clear that before considering the said representation of the petitioner, the 2nd respondent is directed to give an opportunity of hearing to other persons, if any. 5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
