Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent No.1 to conduct enquiry upon the complaint of the petitioner dated 03.08.2022 and ensure the life and property of the petitioner in accordance with the Rule 20 of the Tamil Nadu Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules 2009.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 4. 2.The petitioner seeks relief under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The learned Special Government Pleader brought to the notice of this Court that as per Section 2(h) of the Act, a senior citizen means any person who has attained the age of 60 years or above. Even according to the affidavit averments, the petitioner is aged about 57 years. Therefore, the question of granting relief does not arise. 2/4

3.Leaving open the writ petitioner's other rights and remedies, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
