Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned Notification No.05/2020 issued by the first respondent dated 19.03.2020 and quash the same insofar as the Petitioners is concerned as illegal and unsustainable in law and directing the respondents to accept the petitioners' applications in the physical form for the Recruitment undertaken by the Notification dated 19.03.2020 in the light of Rule 91(d) (2) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Recruitment Rules.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned Notification No.05/2020 issued by the first respondent dated 19.03.2020, insofar as the Petitioners are concerned, as being illegal and unsustainable in law and consequently seeking a direction to the respondents to accept the petitioners' applications in physical form for the Recruitment undertaken by the said Notification, in the light of Rule 91(d) (2) of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board Recruitment Rules.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents on instructions, would submit that the impugned Notification dated 19.03.2020, which is the subject matter of challenge in this writ petition, has been subsequently cancelled.

3. In view of the same, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition, as the relief sought for by the petitioners has already been achieved.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous, after recording the fact that the impugned Notification dated 19.03.2020 has been cancelled. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
