ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to disburse the compensation amount awarded on 27.08.2019, for the land acquired for Natham - Madurai four way road in Survey Nos.115/1A2, 117/2E and 117/4A of Velampatti Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2019.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3. The petitioner stated that the patta for the subject property was issued to her husband in Patta No.653. The petitioner's husband, viz., Ramasamy died on 03.11.2014. On the demise of the petitioner's 2/6

husband, the petitioner and her children inherited the property and were in joint possession and enjoyment of the same.

4. While being so, the said land was acquired by the first respondent for construction of Natham - Madurai four way road. After detailed enquiry, an award was passed by the first respondent on 27.08.2018. Though the award was passed as early as on 27.08.2018, the petitioner was not paid the compensation amount. The petitioner therefore approached the first respondent and was given to understand that as the acquired land stood in the name of Bhoomidhan Board, the compensation amount was not paid to her.

The petitioner further stated that she submitted a detailed representation on 18.06.2019 and requested for immediate disbursement of the compensation amount to her, but, the respondents did not respond to her representation. The petitioner therefore, filed the above Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.

6. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though a large relief is claimed in the writ petition, it would suffice if a direction is issued to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 18.06.2019, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

7. Considering the limited prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, a direction is issued to the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation, dated 18.02.2019, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
