This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents No.1 to 2 to provide necessary police protection to the petitioner and his community members life and limb at the time of celebration of annual Avani Festival on 30.08.2019 at Nathakottai Muneeswarar Temple by considering his representation dated on 19.08.2019.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the seeking police protection to conduct the Annual Avani Festival on 30.08.2019 in the above said temple, the petitioner made a representation on 19.08.2019 to the respondents and the said representation was not considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed for the aforesaid relief.

4. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the second respondent is now agreeing to provide police protection to the petitioner to the conduct the festival.

5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.08.2019 and give police protection to the petitioner to conduct the festival. With this direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
