O R D E R

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent herein not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the third respondent is none other than the petitioner's father. The third respondent has lodged a complaint as against the petitioner on 08.07.2024 that he has deposited his money in the petitioner's bank account for the purpose of his daughter's marriage, however, the petitioner has cheated the petitioner. The third respondent's complaint was forwarded by the Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli District, for conducting an enquiry and the respondent police is conducting a petition enquiry in C.No.498/COP/Camp/PG-C/Tin/2024. Since the complaint was lodged only on 08.07.2024, enquiry is still pending. 3.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner that the fixed deposit amount is his savings and not that of the third respondent. 2/5

He further submits that the petitioner has also lodged a complaint as against the third respondent/father before the Commissioner of Police, Tirunelveli District.

4.This Court has considered the rival submission made. 5.The respondent police is not expected to conduct a petition enquiry for several weeks. They have to conclude the investigation within a reasonable time as directed by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu. In the event if the respondent police have found out that any criminal case is made out, they shall register a case as against the accused. During the course of enquiry, the respondent police shall not harass the petitioner. 6.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
