ORDER

The petitioner has approached the 3rd respondent/the Tahsildar, Madurai and submitted a representation dated 22.03.2023 seeking to grant patta for the land in Survey No.40/3A1, to an extent of 3030 sq. ft. situated at Ramankulam Village, madurai South Taluk, Madurai. Since there was no action on the said representation, the petitioner is before this Court.

Mr.G.V.Vairam Santhosh, learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions from the 3rd respondent, submits that the land in Survey No.40/3A1 was already subdivided as Survey No.341 and a lay out has also been made. He further submits that since there are double entries in the survey number, they are not in a position to take a decision right now. He further submits that the Department has also 2/4

ordered for an enquiry to find out as to how the double entries have been made in Survey No.341 and only after the completion of enquiry, the petitioner's representation would be considered.

Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader that there are several double entries in the survey number and in order to find out the same, enquiry has also been contemplated, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to complete the enquiry with regard to the double entries made in Survey No.341, within a period of six months and thereafter, consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.03.2023. Let the exercise be completed within a period of eight months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
