O R D E R

The petitioner herein, who worked as a Child Welfare Organizer, retired from service on 31.10.2007 and has been in receipt of special pension at the rate of Rs.2,000/- per month. The petitioner claims to have approached the respondent by submitting a representation dated 20.01.2025 requesting for payment of enhanced pension. But, the same has not been considered by the respondent and hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider her representation.

Mr.M.Dinesh Hari Sudarsan, learned counsel for the Government, who takes notice for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the Government has already issued orders enhancing the pension amount vide G.O.Ms.No.41, Social Welfare Department, dated 13.02.2026 and certain clarifications are sought for from the Government for implementing the said Government Order. Further, he submitted that the claim of the petitioner can be considered by the respondent in terms of the said Government Order.

3. In the circumstances, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 20.01.2025 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
