: Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to upload the details of selected meritorious sports candidates based on form II certificate particularly with reference to their participation and winning position in the Senior / Junior Level, National Championship in respect of the posts of Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant and Postman as per notification dated 25.11.2019 in the official website of the postal department as per the representation dated 23.09.2021.

ORDER
The petitioner is a B.E. Graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The respondent, vide notification dated 25.11.2019, called for applications from meritorious sports persons for filling up the vacancies in the postal department in the cadres of Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant, Postman, Multi-tasking Staff. The petitioner, who is also a sports person, applied for the same, but was not selected. He sought for certain information from the respondent under the Right to Information Act, which was furnished to him on 14.09.2021 that the candidates were selected by giving preference to the candidates with Form I (International Level), Form II (Senior / Junior Level - National Championship) certificates.
2.According to the petitioner, Form II certificate is given for mere participation at Senior / Junior Level National Championship, but, as per the notification of the respondent dated 25.11.2019, the candidates who have participated at Senior / Junior Level National Championship but have not won any medal or position shall be given only sixth preference. However, they were given priority and selected in the selection process. Therefore, the petitioner by representation dated 23.09.2021 sought for further information, as to the details of the candidates selected under meritorious sports person quota based on Form II certificate with their winning position in the Senior / Junior Level 2/4
National Championship. But the respondent has not furnished the said information sought for by the petitioner and therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition for a direction to upload the details of the selected meritorious sports persons based on Form II certificate with their winning position in the Senior / Junior Level National Championship.
3.Learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing for the respondent submitted that the selection process was conducted in accordance with law and there is no violation of the notification in the selection process. She has also furnished the details about the candidates who were selected under the notification. This list was also furnished to the petitioner's Counsel.
4.In view of the above position, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition, since the details sought for by the petitioner has been furnished and accordingly, this writ petition stands closed. It is open to the petitioner to challenge the selection of individual candidates, if he feels that the selection was made by giving wrong preference as against the notification, in the manner known to law, if so advised. There shall be no order as to costs.
