The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to correct his date of birth in the SSLC mark sheet as 24.08.1989 instead of 24.05.1990, in conformity with his birth certificate, and to issue a fresh mark sheet based on his representation dated 20.04.2026.

2.According to the petitioner, his date of birth was mistakenly entered in the SSLC mark sheet as 24.05.1990 instead of 24.08.1989. In support of his claim, the petitioner has produced a copy of the birth certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths, Padmanabhapura Municipality, which records his date of birth as 24.08.1989. 3.Mrs. K.R. Shivashankari, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents, submitted on instructions that if the petitioner submits an application to the Chief Educational 2/5

Officer, Marthandam Educational District, Kanyakumari District, the same will be considered and forwarded to the first respondent for appropriate action. The said submission is placed on record. 4.In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of, reserving liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh application before the Chief Educational Officer, Marthandam Educational District, Kanyakumari District, seeking correction of the date of birth in the SSLC mark sheet. Upon receipt of such application, the said authority shall forward the proposal to the first respondent within a period of two weeks. Thereafter, the first respondent shall consider the proposal and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a further period of two weeks. 5.There shall be no order as to costs.
