ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's life and limb as claimed in his representation dated 25.07.2024 on the file of the third respondent police.

2. According to the petitioner, he received life threat from the fourth respondent and thereby, he sent a representation for police protection to the third respondent on 25.07.2024, but no action was taken. Hence, this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would submit that the representation of the petitioner is pending for enquiry and they will conduct enquiry and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the fourth respondent would submit that there is a property dispute between the parties and case also 2/5

filed in O.S.No.57 of 2024 before the Principal District Munsif Court, Thirumangalam and the same is pending. Therefore, for the disputed property, police protection cannot be granted.

Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the representation of the petitioner is also pending before the third respondent, it is for him to conduct enquiry and pass appropriate order. In view of the same, this Court, recording the aforesaid submissions, directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, conduct enquiry and pass appropriate orders, after affording opportunity to both parties, in accordance with law, within 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
