JUDGMENT

(By G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) Heard both sides.

2.The appellant was an aspirant for the post of Assistant Professor in the department of Commerce. The recruitment process pertained to the year 2008. Originally, there were 58 posts. In the year 2010, only 36 posts had been filled up out of 58. In the year 2012, 16 posts were filled up. That still left 7 posts vacant. The writ petitioner wanted the respondents to publish the list of candidates for the remaining vacancies. According to the appellant, if the reserve list had been operated, he would have definitely been appointed. It was for that reason, this writ petition came to be filed. This writ petition is rather in the nature of an RTI query. In any event, in view of sheer lapse of time and on account of the fact that the appellant filed another writ petition subsequently, we are 2/4

of the view that interference with the impugned order is not called for and the writ appeal is dismissed. No costs.
