O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to dispose of the representation/appeal of the petitioner, dated 19.12.2019.

2. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the departmental action was initiated against the petitioner and on 17.11.2015, the Superintendent of City Police imposed the punishment of postponement of increment for one year with cumulative effect. On appeal, the same was reviewed by the Commissioner of Police, Tirupur on 02.12.2015. Aggrieved by the said order, he preferred an appeal 19.12.2019, before the respondent and for the past one year, the appeal has not been disposed of by the respondent. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Mr.A.Thiagarajan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondent and submitted that the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 19.12.2019, will be considered by the respondent, on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Considering the above said submissions, this Court directs the respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner, dated 19.12.2019, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
