PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 528 of BNSS Act, to direct the respondents police to conduct a fair, proper and time bound investigation in Crime No.96 of 2026 and custodial interrogation of the accused persons within a stipulated time frame as fixed by this Court. ORDER

The present petition has been filed by the defacto complainant in Crime No.96 of 2026, seeking a direction to the respondent police to conduct a fair, proper and time bound investigation and custodial interrogation of the accused persons.

2. A perusal of the FIR reveals that the petitioner has lodged a complaint as against his relatives alleging that the petitioner was attacked and abused by them.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that so far they have not been arrested despite the fact that the accused persons have never approached the Court seeking anticipatory bail. According to him, the investigation has not been conducted in a fair manner.

4. I have considered the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. As could be seen from the FIR, it has been registered on 19.05.2026 and in such circumstances, the respondent police are directed to complete the investigation within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above said observations, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
